Miscellaneous
(alone)
Alone
in a crowded room
shouting at the top of my lungs,
hearing silence in return. Wearily, angrily
beating the bars of my prison. I did this.
This is my fault. Sinking in the silence,
no life line this time. Choking on my
anger, and swallowing my pride.
Dealing with insecurities, and trying to
appease my aching mind. Looking around and
seeing through the years, through the painted on
smiles and smoke screens. Seeing
everyone's personal hells, listening to the
silence of their pain. Now knowing, but never fully
feeling that no matter how secluded I feel,
I'm never truly
alone.
